so throughout the day, i tend to get these random "thoughts"...however, i either forget them or they dont have a "theme".....so here they are:
- What does the time keeping office at work smell like cat puke? I jsut dont understand...eery single time i go down there, it jsut stinks!! I have no idea how people work there!
- When are they bringing back flannel shirts? They have brought back "skinny jeans" and "bell bottoms" and those god-aweful shirts that make you look pregnant....why have they not borught bakc the "grunge" look from the mid-90s? I miss flannel...it was like wearing PJs and you were still stylish!
- Why is it people think they have the right to ask you when you are having a baby? Is my reproductivity any ones business? Its like the minute you are married (god forbid you arent married!!!!! hos does a piece of paper suddenly bring ona barage of questions?) people feel like they must ask you...it obnoxious and rude!!! I swear to god! What if i couldnt have children...or was trying and couldnt get pregnant.? Wouldnt they feel like assholes!! What if i just dont really want children? does that make me a horrid person? I just tell people "i hate chidren"....it usually shuts them up becuase its hard to have a response to that...hehehhehe...let poeple think i am a heartless bastard (because i am)!! I think next time some one asks, i am going to ask "oh, so when are you going through menopause?" Also, not everyone feel likes they want to repopulate the earth with offspring or that it is their god-given right to pop a kid out...whatever....people are ridiculous!
ok enough random ramblings!

GRrr
I am tired and I have to go to North Carolina tomorrow. I hate the south...people are ignorant and dumb and they are still fighting the war (which we freakin' won)....grrr...I was in the ER last night with my father in law til the wee hours of hte morning becuase Robert Wood Johnson is possibly the WORST hospital i have ever been to and i was afraid if we left him, we would come back and they would have amputated a leg or something by mistake--oh im sorry, that would have required one of the nurses to stop eating and come actually check on him....to top it off, todaya at work i had a patient walk off and got somewhat hostile all over a STUPID CIGARETTE!!!!!!!!!!!! Why they can not let my patients smoke is beyond me....and belive me i thnk smoking is a gross habit that can led to health problems...however, nicotine has been proven to calm schizophrenics...and when you have a 6'5" schizophrenic with a history of beating the crap out of people wanting a cigarette and he cant get one (even for 5 dollars a cigarette---outrageous!!), it doesnt make for the most pleasant situation..which our lawmakers or powers that be seem to give a flying shit about...meanwhile myself and my employees have to get cursed at and threaten....thats all i have to say about that--now the new jersey gestapo is really going to kill me because they want everone to thinking its a great idea....grrrr

maybe i dont have to be a cagefighter.....
ok, so maybe i dont have to start cagefighting for my frustration----i can just BOX on the Wii!!
So in case you havent guessed, we bought the Wii this evening....now, we had played it once before at PJ and Kari's house (now just PJ's house - long story)....and i thought it was cool ---way cooler then those other gaming systems (although i have a slight addiction to rock band - we played for over 4 hours last weekend- i know- sad...i even broke a drum stick...even sadder)....but marco was still torn between a PS3 (we already have a PS 2) or Wii....and i really thought the PS3 was going to win because it had a bluray player.
then we took a nice trip to Amy and mike's apartment----and proceeded to play Mariokart for 2 hours---which i TOTALLY sucked at, but it was so so so fun!!!!!! I sucked so badly at the game that i totally kind of freaked out when i got into my saturn to drive because i felt as if i might have forgotten to drive and would take a tumble off of rt 78...hehhe...fortunaly, i am better at driving the saturn then i was the mariokart.
So, needless to say, we bought the Wii tonight...unfortunatly Mariokart was sold out (apparently the Wii fit has caused a run on all things "Wii" around here)....however, i did discover what an awesome rush BOXING IS!! I totally Knocked out my opponent within the first round - plus got some hostilities out!
Oh, and on the brighter side, my kind BIL and SIL have made an emergency trip to their Target for us to pick us up Mariokart!! Wahoo!!!! This is good---maybe i have finally found a hobby (other then reading)...now i just need to learn how to turn the damned thing on by myself....hmmmm.....

my small excitment
OK, so my blog last night was a little evil...that is because i am evil....But sometimes i think maybe my job makes me evil---case in point - the OT meeting today....my poor boss!
Anyway, a little note of happiness...
I heard"I saw the sign" by Ace of Bass today on my radio...I was SO EXCITED!! I used to LOVE Ace of Base! They were best thing to come out of sweden (besides pretty people, and ABBA)...Its just one of those songs that you hear and it makes your blood tingle and the nostalgia runs over you---needless to say, I totally sang it on the top of my lungs...and then had the song in my head for the rest of the day, along with their "other" hit song "All that she wants is another baby..."
Ok, off to have dinner with some of my favorite people!!!

i hate cooking
I really really hate cooking....almost as much as i hate OT students....j/k (maybe not)....(Marco claims i can not say that....hmm...is there an "OT" gestapo as well as the "state of NJ" gestapo??)
Why cant i afford a personal chef? Life is so unfair...hmm...
So I tried to make dinner tonight....apparently you can not freeze pizza dough...who the hell knew? I didnt! I though I was a total genious because i was making 2 meals out of materials i bought for just one....Needless to say my pizza casserole was a bust...therefore McDonald's was to the rescue.
I would just like to say that I am very sad transfat is no longer used...i know, it will do my fat ass better not to be inhaling transfat...but McDonald's fries now suck! What the heck? Must "activists" take everything away? Its all those damned skinny, nutritionist types who want my clients to eat fish sticks and fat-free mayo ...they ruin everything - I digress- I mean, I know Im fat and I know its not good to inhale fatty mcdonald's fries, but I am a consenting adult and on the once a month occasion (i really dont eat Mcd;s that much) I feel like clogging my arteries i should be able to!!! If Im a fat ass, its by my own choice!! I am "PRO CHOICE" all around people!!! Meanwhile I have to eat sub-par french fries that have just as much fat and calories, but taste like shit!
OK, so my french fry rant is really just because I had a cranky day...as evidenced my hatred of OT students...I dont HATE all OT students - I just am FRUSTRATED by todays youth...i cant believe i just wrote that , considering I am only 26 1/2 (my kind husband jsut reminded me that i am more like 26 3/4....he is such a catch!) . But some of these kids have nerve!! Not all of them ---some of them are quite nice and professional....but this other group - they are a whiny becuase they have to do field work and neglect doing other stuff in order to "go on vacation"...what the crap!!!!!!! When I was an OT student, I would have licked the floor if my clinical supervisor told me to!! (Mary, you missed out in making me look like an ass)...
....and while I am ranting and raving, I would just like to say the world DID exist before text messaging came about...and no employer is ever going to employ you if all you do is text message....its very rude to check you text messages mid sentence as well...Grow up - your life does not revolve around text messaging. It makes me just want to take their prissy phone and throw them on the ground and stomp on them.....
.....and in my day I had to walk 10 miles in freezing rain without shoes just to get to school...hehehhehe....
Perhaps my hostilities towards this "generation" (which, although I am only like 6-8 years older, I feel totally alienated from - although my niece is pretty cool, despite her obsession with text messaging as well :) ) come from the fact that at the movies this weekend, a bunch of these "teeny boppers" were singing what I heard one of them call "OLDIES"....ok people, here are the songs they were singing ---"BARBIE GIRL" and "I WANT IT THAT WAY"....i totally remember when those songs came out....i felt like such an old woman!!!! Oldies, my ass.....oldies are song like "In the Still of the Night" and "Hound Dog"....not "Barbie Girl!!"
Ok, so re-reading this blog I am noticing that I am a little hostile. I think that maybe I am going to take kickboxing or something to get my hostilities out...or become a cage fighter...ultimate cage fighting...heheheheheh............
.....I know, I wouldn't last 2 minutes....but think of all the entertainment you could get!

I hate pollen!
So I was really enjoying the spring weather - the nice sunshine, the pretty trees and flowering trees, the sweet smell, sleeping with the window open, airing out my house..............
And then reality sunk in. My car is now covered in pollen and I am sneezing, coughing, have a sore throat and miserable with allergies.....the charisma of the season made me forget why i DONT sleep with the windows open....because i become a giant mucus bucket....sorry for the descriptive language. So, I am probaly the onlyperson in the gorgeous weather who has her air conditioner on..i know, im a loser.
i watched American Idol last night for the first time in ages and it got me thinking about songs.
Now we all know my favorite song is the "Thong song"....not because it has any special meaning but becuase it is catching and has a good beat. As as matter of fact, it is one of the stupidest songs ever written.
We all have "favorite" songs....However, it got me thinking about songs that have special meaning to me and have impacted my life...These are the songs that get you in the gut when you hear hem...They are not neccesarily my favorite songs (although some are), but whenever i hear them, they either bring back memories or i think they are just powerful songs....so, here is my list of "Thais's most meaningful/impactful songs"...Part 1 ----ill do this in 2-3 parts, because i havent come up with all of them yet!
Thais's most impactful/Meaningful songs
1. "Not Ready to Make Nice" - By the Dixie Chicks.
I was a fan of the Dixie Chicks WAY before the controversy and this song, although this song cemented my love for them. I actaully cried at the concert at MSG when they played this song. As a matter of fact, this song is not neccesarily my favorite Dixie songs - That would be "Cowboy Take me away." However, when ever this song plays, i feel my heart start to beat, my adrenaline start to go and suddenly i have this overwelming urge to go to a peace rally and burn my bra or something like that. To me, this song is like a musical defense of the First Amendment . In a time where my views were VERY UNPOPULAR (how people change their tune..hmmm), it was nice to hear that i was not the only one who thought the world had gone absolutly mad. In my liberal, somewhat convoluted mind, I could imagine this song being played during the American Revolution if country-rock-chick music had been popular back then. (yes i know - im being a bit histrionic)....Even if you dont like the Chicks, you have to admit they make great music! (note: close second "political" dixie song - "Truth #2")
2. "Icky Thump" - The White Stripe
Whereas #1 song makes me want to burn my bra, this song make me want to bang the hell out of a drum set and scream. If I were to describe this song, I would call it "primevil rock." It makes me want to dance around like an idiot when this song comes on the radio. It is rock at the rawest and roughist....and I still think Jack White is a genious. In 20 years when i look back and try to define to my great nieces and nephews (no grandkids for me) what was "rock" in 2008, "Icky Thump" would come to my mind....the 1960's and 1970s had the beatles, rolling stones and led zepplin....we have White Stripes and Icky Thump.
3. "Do What You Have To Do" - Sarah McLachlan
Yes, of course I love the requisite Sarah songs such as "angel" and "adia" and "I will remember you"....However, TRUE sarah fans recognize her greater body of work which includes songs such as the afore mentions. I remember listening to this song whenever i was going through a period in my life where i needed depressing angry-chick-esk music to pout to. Its a great break up song and is the song i play most often when feeling either sad or when Im really cranky and feelig like a matyr. Its a beautiful melody...Plus, SArah Mclachlan writes the most profound lyrics. The first line of this song is:
"What ravages of spirit
conjured this temptuous rage"
Who writes songs (lately) with words like "temptuous" in it...as i recall, America was recently obsessed with a song thats great lyrical poetry included the phrase "my humps, my humps , my lovely lady lumps".
Ok, Im done writing to my next blog-time for dessert and some sleep---I will continue my list next time!!!!

Reason #5654 why I should not have children
So on Friday I was sitting at a light in PLainfield, waiting very impatiently for it to turn green...In a back yard 2 houses away from where my car was, a boy around 6 was trying to ride his 2 wheel bike with training wheels...for some reason, depsite the training wheels, this child was having difficulty mastering the bike.....After some time, he proceeded to hit a curb and then take a slow-motion tumble off the bike....
And what do I do?
- Do I exclaim "Oh my! That poor child!"
- Do I look to see if he is ok/conscious?
no, not me....I burst out into uncontrolable laughter!!! It was the funniest thing I had seen all day!! I am so going to hell!! My window as wide open - Im surprised i didnt get shot!
And the even sadder thing is, as I replay it over and over in my head, I still find it hilarious!!!
